Reservation Confirmation - Scam Alert
You might receive an email confirming your
hotel or travel bookings. If you have made recent bookings you will check. If
you haven't you may be tempted to check to make sure there isn't a mistake.
My advice, delete the email and make
contact with the company you booked your travel with.
The email might read something like
this:
Hotel Confirmation: 9463504
Date: Wed, 1 Aug 2012 09:03:30
+0900
---
Herewith you receive the
electronic reservation for your hotel. Please refer to attached file for full
details.
Arrival: Saturday, August 04, 2012Departure:
Monday, August 06, 2012
Number of rooms: 1

TeamBooking.com
http://www.booking.com Your
Reference ID is: 3165608 The
Booking.com reservation service is free of charge. We do not charge you any
booking fees or administration fees, and in many cases rooms offer free
cancellation.-Booking.com guarantees the best hotel rates in both cities and
regional destinations - ranging from small family hotels to luxury hotels.
There is a company called booking.com, but
this email is not from them. The harm
will come in 1 or 2 ways. The file you open will have a trojan, or the website
it directs you to will run one of those wonderful "Your computer has been
infected" scams on you.
Thanks for this post. It is really helpful post and everyone should avoid such situation.
